Activate Series: #7 - Why Is the Gender Revolution a Pro-Life Issue, and How Should We Respond? October 19, 2017 12:29
Our weekly #Activate vlog series uses clips from Educe™ online courses to illuminate the truth behind the cultural battles of today (and tomorrow) and move Christians from education to action in their communities, churches, and circles of influence.
What the pro-life movement calls “the culture of death” is really just a tangled mess of social symptoms masked by slogans and normalized by organized movements. These social symptoms, whether they present as abortion, euthanasia, life-destroying research, homosexuality, or gender dysphoria, reveal to us the tragic natural consequences of rejecting God’s design. Because all of God’s design elements—life, marriage, family, sexuality, and gender—are perfectly and purposefully intertwined, the culture of death must systematically dismantle them. Much of this work has already been done. But the goal of the new sexual revolution raging around us today is to finish the job.
As you watch this week’s course clip, which defines the spiritual problem and the biblical solution, consider these questions:
- Why are children specifically a target of the new sexual revolution?
- What common themes lie underneath efforts to promote the destruction of preborn life and normalize homosexuality and transgenderism?
- When we look at all of these issues through a spiritual lens, how can we respond more compassionately to those who are hurt by the lies of our culture?
